The groundwork to make a belt-like Zonari is practiced on the loom to further proceed with the \u201c\u00e7imbo technique\u201d (needlework), which is applied with cotton threads coming in different thicknesses. Gold or silk threads may also be applicable. The loom fabric weaving employs the technique of interlacing the two-ply twisted patterns of the warp threads and the weft threads and gives a nice aesthetic look even from the back of the zonari. Geometric motifs are commonly created through this style of embroidery with red and white as the most predominant colors followed by blue which is less often used.
